1998

January

Established Tomato Corporation in Yamatotakada, Nara with capital of 10 million yen.

Started exporting tea to Singapore. Sold at Singapore Carre four, etc.

1999

January

Opened a sales office in Nishi-ku, Osaka.

Started importing processed foods (fruit jellies & sweets) from Malaysia.

Sold at Queens Isetan (Shinjuku store), Sony Plaza, etc.

2000

January

Moved head office functions to sales office in Nishi-ku, Osaka.

Started importing paper cups from Taiwan. Exhibited at Osaka Japan Rack West.

2001

June

Began developing imported foods and sweets for 100 yen shops.

2003

March

Began importing Japan's first 100 yen canned crab.

August

For the first time in a national newspaper, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun featured a 100 yen can of crab in its new products section.

September

Became the official distributor of Hi-Q FOOD Co., Ltd. (Thailand) in Japan and started importing the sauces in jar.

2005

April

Developed 100 yen canned sardines in Morocco and started importing them.

November

Began importing Japan's first 100 yen anchovies

2008

March

Started importing the hit product Grainy Mustard 90g from Dijon, France.

May

Obtained registration as a designated salt seller.

October

Started volunteering in Thailand.

2009

Started importing hit product 20% Lemon Juice 200ml from Italy.

2010

The Tokyo office opens in Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

The 100 yen cannned crab is featured on the Fuji Television Network (nationwide broadcast) show "Real Scope."

Obtained a liquor sales license.

Obtained trademark registration for new brand "PASTODECO".

Introduced on MBS Radio's "Kamiizumi Yuichi's Ee-na! ~ Daikichi Yohei's That's World Trend!"

Company trip to Hawaii to celebrate 15th anniversary

100 yen canned anchovies are featured on the Fuji TV Network (nationwide broadcast) program "Real Scope."

Began importing the hit product PASTODECO Fried Onions 100g from the Netherlands.

July

100 yen canned anchovies and 100 yen canned crabs are featured on the Fuji TV Network (nationwide broadcast) program "TV Social Experiment: Asunaro Lab."

2014

Canned anchovies and Canned Crab are featured in Nikkei Trendy.

May

100 yen canned anchovies are featured on Fuji TV's (nationwide) "Tokudane!'" program.

July

Our products, mainly pasta sauces, are introduced on the Yomiuri TV program "Yastomo's Big Discovery TV".

Our canned sardines, canned crab, and mild Thai curry are introduced on the TV Asahi program (nationwide broadcast) "Sma STATION!!".

Mild Thai curry is advertised in our first TV commercial (Yomiuri TV).

Mild Thai curry was featured in the Nisshukan Josei magazine, "Guroume Kan de Ouchi Bar".

2016

February

Canned crab was introduced on TV show"Ariyoshi's Nippon Genki Project”.

Our smoked canned sardines were featured in the new products section of Nikkei MJ.

Our products were introduced in Kobunsha Mart's "Change Your Life with 100 Yen Shops!"

2017

June

Three Pastodeco pasta sauces, Arrabiata, Tomato & Basil, and Tomato & Onion, are featured in the new products section of Nikkei MJ.

November

Yoshimoto Kogyo comedians (Kamaitachi) are employed to promote anchovies in a TV commercial.

2018

March

Our sales activities were featured on the Mainichi Broadcasting "NEXT JAPAN ~ Passionate Seekers" program.

2020

May

In response to the impact of COVID-19, Mr.Okamoto donated a total of 36,000 masks to our business partners. He also provided 10 million yen in funding to Japanese Red Cross Society.

We were awarded the Gold Medal of Merit by the Japanese Red Cross Society.

2021

Two of our company's general managers were awarded the Navy Blue Ribbon Medal at a ceremony held by the Japanese Red Cross Society.

In response to the spread of COVID-19, we have provided 10 million yen in funding to Japanese Red Cross Society for the second consecutive year.

Okamoto published "Business Tips Taught by the Success of the 100-yen Canned Crab" through the PHP Editors Group.
